All Souls Day is observed on Nov. 2, especially in Batanes. Most people in Metro Manila though observe it on Nov. 1.
We went to the Manila Memorial Park on October 31 to avoid the Nov. 1 traffic.
Not sure how this is observed in other parts of the world, but in Metro Manila, lots of people stay overnight in the cemetery - bringing tents with them if they don't have mausoleums.
It wasn't this way in the early 80s. Back then, people just visited, laid flowers, said prayers then left.
