MyDSL

Last May 14, Jon and I applied online for a PLDT myDSL 999 plan at the e-lounge. It was approved and someone came today to set up the connection.

My PC does not have a LAN card, so I agreed to pay the guy PHP600 for the card plus labor.

Finally, a fast internet connection.

Mother's Day and Election Day

It's election day and I was at Manila before lunch with Jon to vote. Proceeded to Glorietta for lunch.

There was no new movie showing so we just canvassed for a cellphone for Mama. There was little choice when it comes to looking for a simple phone that Ma could easily learn to use, and whose text is large and clear enough to read. Settled for the Nokia 1112. Used Sally's monetary Christmas gift for Mama to buy the cellphone. I promised to take care of the monthly load.

Preparing for Election Day

Voting for the Common Good: The 2007 Election
"...We exhort our people not only to pray but also to be vigilant. Let the different associations and groups come together to study and examine the candidates and their platform of government. They may even come to an agreement among themselves whom to vote; but each one must personally come to his/her decision. They will not vote according to personality or winnability but in view of the candidates’ agenda of government. "

External disk drives

The 80GB hard drive in my PC is getting too congested. It's mostly for data as there is a separate 40GB hard drive for the OS and the main programs. Since I also use the slave drive (the 80GB one) for virtual memory, I decided it's time to free up some space.

Headed to Glorietta last night to buy external hard disk drives. Got two 40GB hard disk drives that are for laptops. They're small. Then bought casings for each of them. It's a cheaper way to have external hard drives. You'd probably pay more if you buy a product that's packaged as an external HDD. I already paid more since I bought these at Glorietta. For less the amount I paid, I could've gotten 2 80GB drives in a place like SM Fairview, where Jeng bought hers:

Text message from Jeng:
Hi 80 gb seagate php3200 + 200 for casing.
