Book Splurge

The ticket I bought for the movie Pan's Labyrinth was for the 7:50PM showing, so I headed over to Powerbooks bookstore to pass the time.

Bad choice. I saw these books and had to add them to my shelf:
The Gnostic Gospels: Including the Gospel of Thomas The Gospel of Mary Magdalene (Sacred Wisdom)
The Tibetan Book of the Dead (Penguin Classics)
The Gnostic Gospels: Including the Gospel of Thomas, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene (Sacred Wisdom)The Tibetan Book of the Dead (Penguin Classics)
PHP 332PHP 668

Considering that they were NOT paperback, I ended up charging the total of PHP1,000 to my credit card. Nice round number. That includes the discount I got for having a Powerbooks membership card. Initially, I wouldn't believe that it was the total, thought the cashier was joking me.

I wouldn't really read them cover to cover. I just think they're nice reference materials.

Pen in Manila

Pen dropped by PNB today. She's lost a lot of weight again. Told me she's already GAINED some weight compared to previous months. It turns out that she quit her job at a BPO company to work in a call center. The schedule at the call center is much more erratic than that in a BPO, and her body couldn't keep up. She just resigned from the call center and is applying for job at another BPO company.

Stayed till 9PM at Wendy's Gil Puyat near Taft just talking.

New member of the FX Derivatives Trading Group

We got a newbie at the desk today - Shane Cruz. She used to teach math to High School students and she's a Math major.

She's now the youngest in the FXD group.

As it was my birthday yesterday, I felt like ordering Yellow cab pizza for all in the dealing room.
